[NOTE: the "pl2" is a designation for the NeXTStep version of gmp only. The official distribution of gmp is not at patch level 2. Therefore the names of the packages have been changed to ...-pl2-for-NeXTStep... to reflect this change. If you have any questions, please let me know luomat@peak.org ] gmp-2.0.2.pl2.README gmp-2.0.2.pl2.generic.NIHS.tar.gz gmp-2.0.2.pl2.NIHS.tar.gz Oct 1996 These archives contains an Installer.app package for GNU's gmp-2.0.2. It is a C library for doing arbitrary-precision mathematics. It also contains a Berkley-compatible libmp.a. This is a second attempt at a full NEXTSTEP port of gmp. It now contains support for hppa, and includes a patch, when applied to the original gmp-2.0.2 source, allows you to build gmp yourself. gmp-2.0.2.generic.NIHS.tar.gz: Includes a library built using portable (generic) C routines. This archive was easy to make (for me), but is not as fast as the optimized asm version (see below). gmp-2.0.2.NIHS.tar.gz Includes a library built using faster asm routines. This was more difficult, but I've finally finished the port. Included here is a patch to make gmp-2.0.2 compile successfully. NOTE: the patch has been forwarded to the author of gmp, and it's modifications will likely be incorporated into the next release of gmp. UPDATE: (October 28, 1996) HPPA NEWS Support for hppa is back.
