Title: Best way to get pkgs onto NeXTstation?
Post by: hexloo on August 14, 2018, 12:12:16 am
I have been trying to get GCC, the fixed headers, etc. by uploading the tar.gzs to a local ftp server and getting them using the ftp command, then extracting with gzcat (whatever).tar.gz | tar xf -, but I end up with gzip archive errors. If I upload to my ftp server as a straight tar I still get checksum errors, so I'm guessing the ftp download is resulting in corrupted files  (or maybe the tar/gzcat is way too old to read them properly?) What's the best way to get these on here?

Ended up burning omniweb and some other things to CD and did it that way. Gonna try to get things through omniweb now.

Anyone else have better suggestions?

You also have to set the built in FTP command to binary mode if you weren't doing that.
