Holy crap I wish I would have seen this one!
Hello Brian: If I would have seen it in time I would have just bought it and had you pick it up , I'm sure we would have worked out something on it lol. My guess is it sold in minutes.
Hello All. I'm the lucky buyer :)
Hello: You got a screaming deal, Curious as to what is under the hood ?
Congrats and welcome to the forum!
Thank you! I could only dream about Next computers and didn't believe my eyes when I saw this listing on eBay. Under the hood: internal drive and floppy are missing. CPU board, power supply and MO drive are there. When I turned the Cube on monitor played strange noise and computer started smoking 😡 I disconnected MO from power and was able to get into ROM monitor showing 25MHz CPU with 16MB memory. Since there is no floppy drive, I'm thinking to add HDD + CD-ROM and bootstrap from network. Will try to upload photos later.
Smoke from the monitor or the cube?

Smoke from the computer. Smoke gone when I disconnected optical drive from power.
Hello OldStaph: Yes that happens frequently with the Optical Drives. The Capacitors are usually the culprit and replacing the caps on the motherboard is recommended, we offer the service for $65 , I also sell plug in and go preloaded miicrosd's or hard drives and new old stock floppy drives. I would recommend blowing out all the dust bunnies with compressed air, what are your plans for the Cube? You are in it so cheap a lot of forum members will be envious , right place at the right time. I'll give you a fair shake on pricing as well , I'm computerpowwow on eBay .
Rob, thanks for the information and suggestions. I collect old computers and definitely going to restore this one.
Will start from reading/learning about NeXT HW/SW as never had one before.
Looks like this forum is exactly the place I need now!
