Hi all,

I obtained a NeXTstation Color as a donation back in August, and since then I've been tinkering with it on and off. One of the first ideas I had for it was to host something off of it, something I've always wanted to do with an old Unix box. And what better line of machines to use than what the World Wide Web started on? I set it up and wrote a little page last weekend and here it is:

http://next.freon.systems/

For now it's just a short overview of NeXT Inc, the machine's specs, and some files I used to set it up with NeXTSTEP 3.3.

Don't be surprised if you can't connect, I've been running it sporadically (mainly on weekends) because honestly I don't like the idea of running such rare hardware 24/7. I'd like to do the preventative maintenance of recapping the power supply and putting heatsinks on crucial chips first.

I appreciate any comments, suggestions, and ideas.

I think it's brilliant that more pages are added 😃
Even though I'm sure that more constructive comments might come later on, my first suggestion to you is to make sure that you secure the server. Just have a look at this site to see the identified vulnerabilities for your version of Apache.

Cool to see original hardware doing something!  If you want to run continuously I would suggest an ATX modification instead of a recap. Firstly because a recap of the station power supplies is a nightmare and secondly because a new power supply is likely both safer and much more energy efficient.
