It's been a while since I posted, but try this one.

We've all been through them... you've been working on that big project for work. That one that is sure to get you a promotion. But then, you realize your computer has crashed. And you didn't save. Or the biggest school project of your life, and the power goes out.

Share your worst computer disaster with us.

Fon't really know what I did but I was moving disks around a disk array and the drive letters were not changing so the system was feeding garbage to the swapped drives and hosing down all the data.
Of course, this happened a week before my new tape drive arrived so I spent several days trying to recover what I could.

then there is the terminal app I coded on my Vic 20...only to bump the power cable and reset the system.

a few years ago I was trying to backup my horde of Palm OS war^H^H^H software and ebooks - about 30gb all total- to a new 60gb ide drive from my old 40gb drive... half way in to the copying, BOTH HDDs became unresponsive and I started getting the click of death. Worst. Day. Ever. Razz I have no idea what happened... I almost cried. I have over 40k ebooks... *sigh*

Huge project for university due the next morning and i was doing the finishing steps the night before. I didn't realize that i had an open emacs editor to the code in the background open with an early version of the code. Because it was so late and i was so tired when i was done would automatically punch in the codes for save and close. When I saw the window with the older code i instinctively hit save and close thus writing over all the work. I did eventually recover on time but i had to pull an all nighter.
