Hello NeXT Community: I've been busy scanning in and uploading thousands of pages of hard to find original NeXT Service documentation to my site that we will eventually mirror here as well. These documents will teach you everything from the basics of how to care for and use your NeXT Computers and Peripherals to basics of working in the operating systems. Also included are medium level documents and more documents that even our resident gurus are finding helpful in on going work projects. I'm making them available FREE to all to help everyone continue to maintain and support this great hardware. I'll also be willing to help you out if needed and we carry many of the spare parts you may need or can recommend other NeXT community members that will help in your endeavors. We also buy , sell and trade NeXT hardware and have been doing this since 1993 , feel free to help us keep our lights on!
I would personally like to that Elisa for transcribing many of the original NeXT World articles and Chef for helping concat the individual PDF page documents into sections for ease of use as I've downloaded them into PDF format for you to use , enjoy and help maintain these great systems.
All of these documents we're formerly NeXT computer Inc. docs and we have permission to share these documents with you . ENJOY!
Feedback appreciate as we are open to your help and suggestions
Docs are located at http://www.blackholeinc.com/docs please note currently not a link on the home page until we have things a little more organized so just add /docs and you are there!

It looks like pages are missing from the folder below, as there are only 22 files, and there should be 28?
/docs/nextservicemanual2chapter1-3pp1-28
All the odd pages 1-11 are not present in the folder.
I am working on re-numbering and combining the other folders as well, and should finish with them today. |

Hello all: I just uploaded odd pages 1 through 11 apologies for that in the 1-28 pp folder. I realised that this manual is also missing pages 3 and 4 = part of the index and appendix d and beyond but other than that I think everything is covered. Thank you for your help Chef! Hello NeXT Community: I just uploaded section 2 chapters 1-3 again pp 1-28 so it is not a total cluster to concat despite 2 real house Cats attacking the scanner good humor.
Also scanned and uploaded DAYDREAM in PDF , if anyone has time to help me concat them that would be great!
Check the directories if it is a bunch of docs they need to be concated in order by page number, I'm starting to get the scanning down.
NeXT Canon NeXT laser printer docs online!!

Rob,
Thanks again for scanning and creating all these, and I am glad you found a way to easily combine the pages into one pdf. |

Thanks for your help to I think we can further refine them in Adobe Acrobat trim down the size and add OCR ! I just uploaded the Daydream Reference Manual! _________________ Rob Blessin President computerpowwow ebay sales@blackholeinc.com http://www.blackholeinc.com

I did not try any options to reduce the file size, such as downscaling the resolution. This can be good for on-screen use, but can negatively impact the print quality. At what DPI/Resolution did you scan these pages? |

Quick and efficient IMHO I recommend for projects of this type using a Neat Scanner which the maximum is 600 DPI . I'm still figuring it all out , I wear a lot of hats running Black Hole. I think it is just set to 600 DPI by default , there is also an OCR feature but I figured Acrobat would work after combining it all as I tried reassembling , the easiest way is combine PDF .
So the current madness method is scan in the documents using Neat PDF on Window7 , ftp them to the website , ftp them to my mac , use the mac combine PDF to sort then adobe acrobat to convert to pdf OCR via Chef 's help , download from his drop box , upload to websites blackholeinc.com and nextcomputers.org and clean up delete previous files .... its fun for me and provides useful information to all of us keeping the NeXT dream alive.
