Hi all!
I'm trying to get OS4.2 going in a vm. Using drivers from beta drivers disk 1 (I've tried several of them), I get OS to recognize the CD and the hard drive image, but it fails on init. I get the message that mach_init fails with errno 2, then init fails with the same error.
Any ideas, or guides on how to get it going? Or should I use virtualbox or qemu/kvm?
Thanks for any advice,
Petter |

Try setting it up for DOS instead or Linux and it should work, I have not tried VM Ware 10 ! Best regards Rob Blessin _________________ Rob Blessin President computerpowwow ebay sales@blackholeinc.com http://www.blackholeinc.com

I just booted OS 4.2 in VMware Fusion 7.1.0 and VMware Player 7.0.0 on Windows: both seemed to work flawless. _________________ October 12, 1988 Computing Advances To The NeXT Level |

Thanks for the advice!
I managed to get the OS installed, but on reboot it fails when trying to mount root. Did I make the disk image too big - it's set to 4GB? Or maybe I gave it too much memory, 256MB? I was feeling generous

to be on the save side, I'd create a VM with a 2.0 GB disk and 128 MB ram. _________________ October 12, 1988 Computing Advances To The NeXT Level |
