Hi, all.

I have networking working in Previous on NeXTSTEP 2.1, but not on OPENSTEP 4.2. I'm following the howto, and the ethernet interface is connected in the Previous config interface. I edited /etc/hostconfig manually since SimpleNetworkStarter crashes for me.

I know the problem has to be something simple and obvious, but I'm sure missing it. Anybody got any tips here?

This is strange. SimpleNetworkStarter does not crash for me. I tried to set up networking following the instructions. It seems to work as i can telnet to some server.
The only strange thing that i noticed is, that during the boot process it tells me, that the network is down. But that might be because there is no netinfo stuff ...

I suggest to do a fresh install of OPENSTEP.
