Hello NeXT Community: I enjoy watching the Halt and Catch Fire show on AMC regularly and tonight's episode the was season finally . I was very pleasantly surprised as it was titled NeXT. It features the actors discussing the foundation of the WWW and even better yet using a NeXT Cube for their latest start up venture and on going developer work on set. If you haven't watched the series and you are into vintage computing, check it out it's very cool ! Best regards Rob Fitting as NeXT was launched October 12, 1988 _________________ Rob Blessin President computerpowwow ebay sales@blackholeinc.com http://www.blackholeinc.com

I think it is probably the same style set up I sold Universal for the Steve Jobs movie, they gutted the monitor and hooked it up to a mac pro laptop as they had to match the frame rate so it wouldn't appear to flicker and for it to be brighter... here is a photo from the set _________________ Rob Blessin President computerpowwow ebay sales@blackholeinc.com http://www.blackholeinc.com

Saw that last night and was wondering myself about the monitor, as the resolution did not look quite right. If this is the direction for the next season, I am curious if black hardware will have a larger role, or at least be seen more.
Wonder if we will see a spike in black hardware interest because of this? _________________ Chef |

I forsee more hipsters briefly taking an interest but otherwise it's just gonna be a tech flash. The show's garbage anyways. _________________

I will happily take hipster money if they want to buy black hardware from me.
The show has kind of gone off the rails, especially this last season. I enjoyed the first season and the issues around building "The Giant" from a hardware perspective. The show is now all about the interpersonal relationships with a light pseudo-tech decoration. I still watch it for the little nuggets of gold, especially when they dramatize issues that I can remember well or was indirectly involved in. _________________ Chef |
