I see the slirp is not running properly on Windows... Not sure why I substituted the stack for the one I'd been hacking around and I could get into the VM...

I'll update a build after testing it next time Neutral

Hello all,

I have two questions regarding the NeXTdimension board:

How much memory does the board support? Has anyone tried to run it with 64 MB of RAM?

In case 64 MB are possible: Is it possible to show the main screen (ROM Monitor, boot animation) on the NeXTdimension display when 64 MB are used?

I have a timing problem here with emulation. Once i use more than 32 MB of RAM on the NeXTdimension board, it will no longer show the ROM Monitor or boot animation on the color screen. The Dimension just won't get ready in time, because the power-on memory test takes too much time with 64 MB of RAM. Unfortunately i have no real hardware to test with. Any help is welcome!

Best wishes,

Andreas

I'm pretty sure I have one dimension board with 64MB on it. I'll see if I can find it and what happens at boot.

This thread in the Dimension section indicates that there might indeed be a bug in the ROM that causes the ROM Monitor and boot log or the boot animation to not show up on the NeXTdimension screen during the startup process if more than 32 MB RAM are installed on the Dimension board.

Hello all,

it is time to release Previous v2.1! It improves emulation efficiency and fixes some bugs in FPU and DSP emulation. You should notice quite some improvement in emulation speed or host CPU usage. Thanks go again to Simon Schubiger for these refinements.

You can load Previous v2.1 for Mac OS X here.

Have fun and please report any issues.

Best wishes,
Andreas

Congratulations, Andreas. I have updated my website at previous.unixdude.net, and will have to check out that new version this weekend.

I just noticed that Previous v2.1 contains a little mistake. The user is no longer warned if changing preferences requires a reset of the emulator. It will just be reset. So please be careful changing preferences while emulation is running.

The bug will be fixed in the next release.

Nice work Simon and Andreas: I just tried it definitely faster! I'm setting up my think pad W530 hackintosh I7 so this will be a nice addition ... also uploaded to our archives here http://www.nextcomputers.org/NeXTfiles/Software/Previous68Kemulator/
