Yet another reason is that as it ages, the adhesive becomes a sticky runny guey substance and it's really hard to get off of things

Odd, The tape I use just dries out and becomes flakey over time.
How can you have troubles tearing duct tape? Tear it like a piece of paper. It's not that hard.

Perhaps I'm confusing it !? The silver tape (duct tape?) that I've used is the kind that's VERY strong and has an inner grid of strings that give it much more strength. Impossible to tear it with bare hands, unless the length is huge. It's the kind used in abductions Smile))))

So, is there another kind of "silver tape" ?

Hmmm, then I am not confused. Perhaps I've got the wrong type?? Because every time I had one, I tell you, it wasn't easy to rip that thing like paper! And I dare say that I'm not the stereotypical nerd... Completely out of shape these days, no doubt, but when I was in HS I could do almost 30 'reverse' pull-ups. That's 10 more than the 2nd place guy, and about 28-25 from the rest of the populace. And about a dozen one handed pull-ups too. I've obviously been sold the wrong stuff Sad
