In the meantime I´ve explored some of the Apple / Bandai Pippin stuff in deep. In short terms: to get a CD played and recognized by the Pippin gaming console there is a special hidden file needed on that CD. This file was generated through an authentication process by Apple and stamped to disk before publishing.
After looking on some of these files I noticed that those authentication files are depending on the rest of the CD´s content: the larger the content the larger the authentication file. So far so good...
In order to "produce" my own Pippin CDs I want to ask some cracks in here on how to determine the process steps of authentication. To be more exact: I would like to know what kind of algorithms might have been used to create those files. As long as Apple doesn´t provide any information on this (who wonders...) I would like to re-incarnate this authentication process. But I simply do not know where to start what. I have 3 CDs with different authentication files for comparison purposes.
Any idea? Would be much fun to play Oxyd or Doom on that little half-a-Mac....
