One thing that might really help in getting interesting software written for Nextstep would be these various classes. Even under OSX, however, they're only available in 10.2 and newer (perhaps dependent on Webkit/Safari?). Does anyone know how hard it would be to compile these from Gnustep sources under NS3.3? |

I started porting NSURL et al over from GNUstep a while back -- then promptly lost the HDD with all the sources on.
From what I remember, NSURL itself is fairly straight-forward to port -- one just needs to keep an eye out for GNUstep-specifics (e.g. their preprocessor macros to wrap around release, autorelease, etc etc.)
At the moment I'm working on some videos detailing various things in NEXTSTEP and OPENSTEP... I'll restart backporting GNUstep stuff over to OPENSTEP after that.
I might even be persuaded into seeing what can be added to NEXTSTEP's AppKit, though that one won't be easy. |
