Hi, I finally found the right pc/CDROM combination to get this os running without virtualization but have only got it to display in greys. The card installed is a Ati rage xl installed in rhapsody as a 8mb ati rage card. What cards provide color graphics in x86 installations? Thanks!

For the Intel version of Rhapsody there was very few display cards supported (fewer than even OPENSTEP at the time as I recall, plus OPENSTEP was still supported by Apple nearly four years after Rhapsody DR2). And while a lot of ATI cards were supported at the time, the ATI Rage XL was introduced almost two years after DR2.

In recent years I've mainly focused on running the Intel version on laptops, but when I did have it on a desktop I used a DiamondStealth 64 PCI video card with 2 MB of VRAM (which I keep handy in case I need to set up a desktop system again, either Rhapsody, OPENSTEP or NEXTSTEP).

Here is a list of the display drivers included with Rhapsody DR2 (paired down from the full drivers list here) to give you an idea what to look for.

Thanks, I'll keep my eyes peeled--in particular for that diamondstealth card you menioned. I'm aware of that list, I was hoping more for people offering confirmed reports from actual useage like you and the diamondstealth card.

Hopefully others will offer up some more experiences... most of mine with various cards has been with ones for Apple hardware and is most likely not relevant to PC graphics cards. Embarassed
