Quad NeXTcube from Motorola Museum

I scored this quad system board NeXT cube from an ex-Motorola engineer, it was featured in Motorola's museum.

I was hoping to find a dimension board or a Turbo board, but they are all 25mhz mono boards.

HOWEVER, I noticed one of the boards had hand-written labels on the ROM chip, and was MISSING the white silk-screening text and icon labels near the system ports (see photos below).

Also the Serial number is ABA0001981 (seems to be an early number)...

Anyway, thought I'd share it and hear your thoughts on if you think the un-labeled system board might have been a Motorola prototype.

Looks like two 030 boards and two 040 boards and I see one of them is not silkscreened with markings on the back (that's pretty obvious).
I would guess that one 040 board is a pre-production unit.
