driving Cube without FAN?

does anyone drive the cube without the fan? With no MO-drive and "modern" 3,5" type harddrive it shouldn't overheat?

I've gone faness on my 030 Cube -- Optical drive removed, and booting off of a SCSI Compact Flash reader. I've been reluctant to leave it on permanently, just in terms of not placing undue stress on old components...

I installed a "silent" fan and now barely hear it. I have a thread here:

I'm not sure I would recommend running with no fan at all because the CPU's still tend to warm up on their own.
