NeXT Flavor Pack : Screensavers, Sounds, Icons for 10.5+

Back in 2001, I made an icon set for OS X..



Last year, I modified the standard Leopard screensaver to use the 'original' NeXT halo image.  It works in Snow as well.

This year, I started a Quartz Composer version of the same - the hostname is giving me fits.

Also included are the original NeXT sounds..

I'm cleaning up my iMac's hard drive, and I just found my download of this package.  Any chance you have an updated one for Mountain Lion, or will the 2010 version run on ML?

Also, does it change the busy cursor back to the NeXT's spinning disk cursor?

They keep changing the code, and I haven't been able to get it into anything beyond SL.

The TIFF is in loads of places.  All I do is replace the Apple logo with the NeXT.

The SND files play fine in L and ML, and there are some interesting differences in fidelity between the NeXT sound files and their modern counterpart.

The .icns files still work, but are *soo* old and lame. I made them on a CRT during the DP and 10.0 days with the tools of the time.

10.7 will load this one.  Prefs may crash - beware. Uncheck show with clock and set your Message to " " for an authentic experience.

Interfacelift still has the ancient icon set: http://interfacelift.com/icons/artist/32/itomato/index1.html  :evil: but it's a .bin.hqx file.

Made the .zip available again since I'm running Tiger on a G5 iMac.

For 10.8+, choose Customize, and/or install the 'NeXT Logo Fade' pkg.

Caveat: It's a dirty old package. It will add the NeXT .snd file to your System sounds, so you'll have two Bonks, two Frogs, two Pings, two Tinks, but also Ni, Crow, Block, and the old breaking Glass sound, also named "Glass".
