Hello NeXT Community: Always tinkering so I found these files FAQ's as I remember tweaking swapfiles resulted in performance increase on black hardware back in the day, now with the micro sd's and plenty of additonal space my thought is setting up one of the partitions as a swapfile to increase performance any thoughts? Has anyone enabled their Swaptimizer , the name alone makes me want to give a go....

I also want to see if it is possible to create a 4Gb single partition disk tab entry for scsi2 Micro SD's this would be brilliant as I would be able to bump up my  current 4 2gb to 4 4 gb without having to mount additional 2gb partitions in etc/fstab !  So instead of a split 4Gb , it would be a single 4gb. Any thoughts here ?

I do remember making and booting from a 4GB partition. I dont have access to the details, but I seem to remember it included changing the default block size from 512 to 1024.

1024 block size should actually be helpful for swap as you intend to use. NeXT hardware (nor intel hardware) was unable to boot to a 1024block formatted drive. The trick was to use a kick floppy (or perhaps even an initial 512 formatted kick partition) that would kick off to the 4GB 1024block formatted disk.

Maybe the above might help refresh recollection for some folks?
