Here's a patch for the dealing with the SDL version.
Tested on:
- Ubuntu 22.10 with SDL2 2.24.0
- Fedora 35 with SDL2 2.26.0

EDIT:
The latest version of the branch_softfloat fixes the issue i was having with the lockups. When i have time, i'll try to pinpoint which of the commits fixed it.
