For anyone lucky enough to have a Pyro can you please post pics of the front and back of the board? We know that these are reworked Quadra Overdrive cards and I'm really curious to know how the hardware differs. I see configuration resistors on the board, but also the glue logic could be different.

I've never owned a Pyro accelerator, although I have a number of NOS Newer Technology accelerators.

These are the best pics I have, maybe someone else can provide close-ups.

Hallo, today I have learned that my cube has a nice symmetric serial number :)

I did not want to reduce image size and loose information, so due to 5MB size limit, the pictures have been split to multiple posts.

Ok this matches the mac version I have. If you are able to post a picture the bottom of the cpu I would be very grateful. That is where the configuration resistors are.

So are we saying that the Pyro update for the NeXT cube is the same as some Mac upgrade that might be more readily available and might be compatible with other NeXT cubes?

Not to get anyone's hopes up, but yes that is my hypothesis.

Hallo @barcher174 , I do not want to kill the board or Pyro.
Do you know of some good instructions about how to safely remove and re-add the Pyro?

Or can the picture of "the bottom of the cpu" be taken without removing the Pyro?

Only go as far as youre comfortable, but its as simple as pulling jt straight up out of the socket and reinserting it.

Wow can you share any pictures, and what was the name of the Mac upgrade product and what company(s) offered it?

Very cool! Thanks so much.
