Hi Rob, see Apple2Guys comment above.  The SCSI replacements (ZuluSCSI, BlueSCSI) really don't like it when the image files on the SD card get fragmented it causes performance issues like the one the OP has mentioned.  We never saw with with SCSI2SD because the way those were set up was contiguous by design.

I Bellevue that ZuluSCSI will log an error about this into the log.txt file if it detects any non-contiguous drive image files on the SD card.

I've taken too just reformatting the SD cards pretty much every time I want to copy a new disk image file onto the SD card.  Also, I only copy one file at a time just to make sure I get the files contiguous.  I hope this helps!

What works for me is to boot Robs originally supplied SD card, and drag drop from any of the 6 drives to hd0, then copy that hd0 to my "daily driver" sd card and all is completely super de duper 🙂

Hello Steve: Exactly I drag 1 2gb partition at a time after reformatting the sd card and let it fully install then onto the NeXT one. Yes I tried all 6 at once and found out it doesn't work well as you are correct it is fragmented and scsi2sd has predefined 2gb partitions in the XML file so copying the master iso matched the footprint of each partition when completed :)
